  • NASDAQ Stock Market - Stock quotes may be looked up by company. Provides useful links to EDGAR. Data on most active companies, index activity, and NASDAQ 100 Index.

  • NASW Online - The web site includes a catalog of publications, the NASW Code of Ethics, accreditation information, links to job resources, and current awareness.

  • National Academy of Sciences - Resources maintained by the NAS, National Academy of Engineering, Institute of Medicine and National Research Council.

  • National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) - NACJD website provides downloadable access to over 550 criminal justice data collections.

  • National Association for Music Education - MENC - Homepage of the professional organization. Lots of resource material, but it requires digging! Try doing a search for "teacher guides."

  • National Atlas of the U.S. - Create interactive maps of the U.S. with your web browser. Show data such as population, water distribution, and environmental hazards. Clickable map layers include volcanoes, vegetation, exotic species, and terrain and elevation. Some layers require the Shockwave plug-in.

  • National Center for Education Statistics - "The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), located within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences, is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education."

  • National Center for Health Statistics - Part of the Centers for Disease Control. Provides a wide variety of national health statistics, including disease, mortality and morbidity, and other vital statistics. Includes a "Fastats" section with basic data for popular health topics.

  • National Clearinghouse for ESL Literacy Education - This ERIC clearinghouse features recent ERIC digests and bibliographies, ESL FAQ's, a discussion list, and information about projects and publications.

  • National Commission on Terrorism - Report from 2000 entitled "Countering the Changing Threat of International Terrorism."

  • National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) Abstracts Database - This database contains summaries (and sometimes links to the full-text) of more than 150,000 criminal justice publications, including federal, state, and local government reports, books, research reports, journal articles and unpublished research.

This searchable site offers health information and publications related to hearing and balance, smell and taste, and voice, speech, and language.   • National Network for Child Care - A collaborative effort of the US Dept of Agriculture and the Children,Youth and Families Education and Research Network, this site offers an extensive list of articles, resources, and exterior links on child development. The site's review board rates accompanying articles on a scale from 1 (lesson plans and news releases) to 3 (national peer reviewed).

  • New Jour: Electronic Journals and Newsletters - This site is the product of a cooperative effort of several universities. New Jour accepts and posts announcements of new electronic journals and newsletters and archives the old announcements. Search by title or keyword to get a brief description and link. Be aware that many items are not scholarly journals.

  • New Mozart Edition or Neue Mozart-Ausgabe - Sheet music of the complete works of Mozart, available free for personal and educational use. Use the "Search the NMA" option to locate desired pieces. Site in English and German.

  • New York Stock Exchange - Provides an alphabetical list of all issues traded on the NYSE, as well as the NYSE historical statistics archives.

  • New York Times Learning Network - Searchable by keyword, subject, and grades, but only from 6th through high school. Advanced lesson plans with readings from the New York Times.

  • News Index - Searching for a very current topic? This site allows you to search over 300 newspapers and other news services by keyword.

  • North American Fossil Mammal Systematics Database - "This is a personal database compiled by John Alroy in the course of his research. It consists of phylogenies, taxonomic histories, age-ranges, and body mass estimates for genera and species of Cretaceous and Cenozoic North American fossil mammals."

  • North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) - The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is replacing the existing Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system. NAICS makes substantial structural improvements and identifies over 350 new industries. At the same time, it causes breaks in time series far more profound than any prior revision of the SIC system. The 1997 Economic Census presents a unique opportunity to show the interrelationships between the old and new classification systems.

If an electronic file exists for the report, you may download the file.

  • Nutrition Navigator - Tufts University - An excellent webliography organized as a searchable and browseable database of evaluated and categorized nutrition-related Web sites. Each indexed site has been carefully evaluated by a nutritionist and rated numerically in various categories. The site reviews contain brief descriptions and discuss such things as bias and background.
