  • H-Net, Humanities & Social Sciences OnLine - H-Net is devoted to improving scholarly commmunication and realizing the educational potential of the Internet. Over 100 scholarly discussion groups are available on the site, along with reviews, conference announcements, and calls for papers.

  • Handouts for Students and Teachers - This Purdue University site offers over 130 full text handouts covering all aspects of college writing, from grammar, spelling, punctuation to different types of common writing assignments such as research papers, annotated bibliographies, essay questions, etc. You might want to check the rest of the On-line Writing Lab (OWL) for further assistance and resources.

  • Hardin MD: Meta Directory of Health Resources - Comprehensive index of high-quality web sites related to health and medicine. Search by keyword or browse by subject.

  • Harvard University Herbarium - "The Harvard University Herbaria house one of the largest comprehensive collections of dried plant and fungal specimens in the world."

  • Hazardous Chemical Database - Contains names, formulas and registry numbers for 1991 hazardous chemicals.

  • HealthWeb - Excellent listing of health related web sites selected by medical librarians and aimed at health professionals. Navigation is rather clunky, but access to hard-to-find items is worth the trouble.

  • Healthweb Nursing Pages - Covering a variety of topics including career information, professional organizations, clinical nursing and research resources, this site, maintained at the Taubman Medical Library at the University of Michigan, has recently added Nursing Education Online. This section includes Distance Education, Continuing Education and Virtual Nursing Education. It also links to Nursing Schools in 46 states and nine foreign countries and has addresses of International and U.S. Doctoral programs in nursing.

  • HighWire - HighWire is the Internet imprint of the Stanford University Libraries. It publishes a group of scholarly science journals (primarily biomedical) on the Web. You may browse by subject group or title or search by keyword. Some full text is available.

  • HighWire Press - "A division of the Stanford University Libraries, HighWire Press hosts the largest repository of free, full-text, peer-reviewed content, with 882 journals and 1,045,838 free, full-text articles online. With our partner publishers we produce 72 of the 200 most-frequently-cited journals. About our new site!"

  • Hiram College Library World Wide Web Resources in Management and Related Subjects - Maintained by Jeff Wanser, Coordinator of Government Documents/Reference at Hiram College Library. This excellent webligraphy provides links to professional associations, business schools, research centers, government agencies as well as business subject links.

  • Hispanic / Latino : Latin American Network Information Center - Part of the University of Texas LANIC, this listing of Chicano studies resources covers academic resources, music, public affairs, media, business and economy, community, culture and lists of personal pages.

  • Historic American Sheet Music - Digitized sheet music from 1850 to 1920.

  • Historic Cities - Online maps (enlargeable, very high resolution), literature, documents, books and other relavant material concerning the past, present and future of historic cities and facilitates the location of similar content on the web. In Nov. 2001 contained only maps, including those of Braun & Hogenberg. Part of the Shapell Digitilization Project.
